The BBI JU Office hosted the review meeting of the VIPRISCAR project, which took place on 24th February 2020 in Brussels (Belgium).

Thanks to all the partners, to the project officer Ana Cuadrado, and to the evaluators. Their conclusions and tips for application in future activities have been very positive to improve performance.

Partners took the chance to present and put in common the research work done so far, demonstrating results, facts, and achievements as these have occurred during the first 18 months’ lifetime of the project, and how they fit with the objectives initially proposed.

  • The activities carried out in the WP2 and WP3 related to the IBMC synthesis process and scale-up are very advanced with excellent operational results, which permit us to consider that the objectives have been achieved even better than initially expected.
  • Tasks that involve the IBMC valorization as a substitute for Bisphenol-A in polycarbonates, or substitute for isocyanates in NIPUs production have also started and first promising synthesis routes are being defined. The exchange of ideas with the evaluator experts was very productive. The VIPRISCAR project advances towards new challenges. Moreover, new opportunities for future projects related to sustainable IBMC production closer to industrial-scale start to emerge.
